CAREER LINK | HOW IT WORKS
Career Link is a 6 month program designed to connect TANF participants with an employment opportunity while understanding the key to lasting self-sufficiency is a foundation in education.
DWS Career Consultants meet with each participant and create a personalized plan which assists them in finding a work site in their local community that aligns with their career goals. Job-readiness training is provided by CWS as needed to prepare for employment.
This is a full time program combining 20 hours per week of paid employment with 20 hours a week training to obtain a high school equivalency, college credit, or other educational opportunities. Working to resolve challenges that stand between you and a full time job can also be included.
Participants with steady employment gain confidence in themselves, have the opportunity to earn income and learn new skills to make them a more employable individual.
